About
I started EquiLogic with one horse and a lot of questions
EquiLogic began with my first horse, Pilot — a young OTTB with the classic “thoroughbred feet.” He struggled with high/low syndrome, couldn’t keep shoes on, and every question I asked was met with the same answer: “He’s a thoroughbred, they just have bad feet.” But no one could explain why.
Determined to find answers, I dove into research and eventually made the decision to pull Pilot’s shoes with certified barefoot trimmer Jeannean Mercuri. The difference was immediate — heel-first landings, signs of comfort, and a horse that moved better than I had ever seen before.
That was the lightbulb moment where everything clicked. I realized hoof health and soundness were about so much more than just the hoof itself.
Today, EquiLogic exists to help horses and their owners create healthier, more comfortable lives through a whole-horse approach to soundness and hoof health.
